What Permanent Lighting Means
Permanent outdoor lighting is a commercial-grade LED system installed on a property’s architecture: roofline channels, eave mounts, pathway and step lights, tree and landscape uplighting, pool deck and water feature accents. Installed once. Controlled from an app. Color-changing capable for holidays, seasons, and events.
The system is not “holiday lighting left up year-round.” It is an architectural feature: flush-mounted, wired to a controller, with no hanging or removal ever required. Properties run the system nightly; many clients use it for entertaining, for ambient outdoor lighting, and for color programs tied to holidays, sports seasons, and personal occasions.
For the franchise operator, permanent lighting is a service agreement business. Install, annual maintenance, warranty service. The contracts compound as the installed base grows. A franchise with 80 permanent lighting clients on annual agreements has predictable recurring revenue regardless of whether a particular client rebooks a holiday install in any given year.

What the Permanent Lighting Stream Requires
Permanent lighting is the year-round half of the business, and it asks more of an operator than holiday work does in three specific areas: equipment, crew skill, and the structure of the service agreement. None of the three is difficult to learn, but each has to be in place before the first permanent install, because a permanent system is something the customer lives with for years rather than a display that comes down in January.
Equipment
A permanent installation uses a different product set from a holiday display: flush-mounted channel and fixture runs, controllers, low-voltage power supplies, and the mounting hardware that fits the roofline, fascia, or landscape surface in question. Fixture specification changes with climate, so the product an operator carries in a high-sun market is not identical to the product carried in a freeze market. The approved product line, the tools, and the starter inventory for a Lighting Partners territory are covered during onboarding, and group supplier pricing applies to permanent product in the same way it applies to holiday product.
Crew skill
A holiday crew that can hang a clean roofline already has most of the ladder and layout skills a permanent install needs. What it adds is precision: channel runs have to be straight and consistently spaced, controller placement and wiring have to be tidy and weatherproof, and the system has to be commissioned and demonstrated to the customer from the app before the crew leaves. The consultative sale is also different. A permanent customer is choosing a design, a color program, and a control setup, not a price per foot, and the operator or a lead installer needs to be comfortable walking a property and recommending a layout. Service agreement structure
The recurring value of permanent lighting comes from the service agreement attached to each install: annual maintenance, warranty service, reprogramming, and seasonal color changes. The agreement is what turns a one-time install into an ongoing relationship, so it needs to be presented at the point of sale rather than offered as an afterthought. Spring, after holiday takedown and before the summer presale window, is a natural time to renew existing agreements and to walk commercial properties for permanent upgrades.
